Instant Pot Ultra Review (Instant Pot 10-in-1)

Instant Pot Ulta 10-in-1 is a multi-purpose electric cooker that can hold up to 8 quarts. This smart cooker is the newest entry in the Instant Pot family and has already become widely popular. It has several customization features which have been introduced for the first time in an electric pressure cooker. As its name indicates, Instant Pot Ultra 10-in-1 is a replacement of 10 kitchen appliances.

Before Instant Pot Ulta 10-in-1 came into the market, we thought that Instant Pot Plus DUO60 was the best electric pressure cooker ever made. However, our opinion has changed after checking  Instant Pot Ultra 10-in-1 and it’s amazing features. This model functions very differently as compared to normal pressure cookers. It allows you to make unlimited dishes very effort. There are multiple benefits of using Instant Pot Ultra pressure cooker. It is way superior to other kitchen appliances as it can easily replace 10 other kitchen devices and save you a lot of money, time, and space.

This electric pressure cooker includes all the features that were present in previous instant pot models. Moreover, it has an all new bigger digital display with an easy-to-use program system. This takes half of your worries away when you’re cooking. This instant pot also has a cooking process indicator that tells you how much of cooking is left. It gives you an idea how much time it will take to prepare your meal. You can also remove its power cord and store the instant pot easily.

Here’s an overview of the Instant Pot Ultra 10-in-1 multi-purpose electric pressure cooker:

Instant Pot Ultra Review: Latest Features

This instant pot model comes with an all new feature called “Ultra”. This feature allows you to preset the pressure cooker to a specific cooking time and temperature. It also gives you two pressure options to choose from.

Its controls are a bit difficult to understand from a module. But once you start using the cooker, you will gradually figure out its programs and management system. Instant pot Ultra is basically ten appliances in one machine. But it doesn’t end here as there are other hundreds of useful tools in this one device as well. It is obvious that you will expect the standard functions like pressure cooking, sauteing, yogurt making, sterilizing, warming, rice cooking, steaming, slow cooking, and temperature setting, but there’s a lot more as well that this electric pressure cooker has to offer.

Now coming to its downside, the Ultra feature may sound amazing from all the advertisements and promotions, just know that it can’t prepare you meals at simply any pressure or temperature that you want. It does have a pressure option but the only two choices you have are high and low pressure. Your food will take about 6 hours or less in case you have the pressure on. However, if you haven chosen a customized temperature to cook with no pressure, then you can cook for about 99.5 hours or less.

If you want to cook your food for over 6 hours using pressure, then you will have to choose the “Keep Warm” feature after the food is cooked. This function will slowly cook your food for another 24 hours. It won’t use pressure but there will be enough warmth in the cooker to allow the cooking process to continue for a longer time.

Design & User Interface Updates

The instant pot Ultra 10-in-1 is designed to look cleaner and attractive. It has a large display screen with a start button, cancel button, and a push dial. It may look more primitive to you as compared to past electric pressure cooker models because there’s no option to quickly switch between programs.

For example, if you want to choose the saute program, you will have to use the dial button and scroll down the list of programs to access the saute program. Moreover, if you want to use the pressure cooking function, you’ll have to press the cancel button first and then scroll down the program list to choose the pressure cook option.

Instant Pot Ultra’s user interface is a little annoying as you have to go through more steps in order to choose a new program, but this issue will probably be solved in the company’s upcoming releases. In our opinion, Instant Pot Ultra 10-in-1 should have program buttons that user can push to choose the desired program. Also, a + and – button would be a great addition too. Hopefully these features will be included in the upcoming models.

Auto-Sealing System Guard

This all new Instant Pot Ultra pressure cooker comes with auto-sealing system guard – a feature which isn’t present in any previous Instant Pot model. In other Instant Pot models, users had to turn the venting knob to seal the cooker. And for letting out the steam, they twisted the knob the other way  (in the opposite direction to the venting position).

In Instant Pot Ultra pressure cooker, the steam release valve gets automatically sealed when you put the lid over the cooker. If the quick release button is pointing in the upward direction, it means that the cooker is sealed. You can also turn the button counter-clockwise in order to seal the steam valve.

Moreover, if you want to quick release the pressure, all you have to do is push the Quick Release button. Moreover, if you want to quick release the pressure, all you have to do is push the Quick Release button. Don’t keep pushing the button otherwise all the steam pressure will come out at once, which can be dangerous. Try pushing the button only slightly as then only a little pressure will come out at a time. The steam release control feature is a powerful one, but it should be used correctly.
