Hello and Welcome to Cookerspedia! I’m Bonnie, personal chef, recipe developer, cookbook hoarder, food photographer & blogger, certified foodie, and mom to two cute kittens Shadow and Casper.

I’ve got these “cooking genes” from my mom, a famous chef & food columnist of her time. Her entire creative energy was focused on developing new recipes and feeding me and my little sister. I remember the first time I got my hands on one of her cookbooks. It was James Beard’s Theory & Practice of Good Cooking. Since then I’ve been fascinated with recipe books and the ocean of culinary possibilities they hold.

Over the past 4 years, I’ve collected over 80 cookbooks and have binge read them like Shakespeare’s plays. They inspire and encourage me to get into the kitchen every day and try different recipes. However, I’m still always dreaming of and making up new recipes in my head as my mom did (and still does). Cooking has always been my creative outlet where I put all my heart. Being a working woman, I feel like trying new recipes and preparing delish meals for my family is the best way of relaxation for me.

I’ve polished my cooking skills through self-instruction, online courses, and practical experience of working as a personal chef on weekends. Through my highly-personalized service as a caterer, I try bringing love and care back to the home-cooked meals of our time-starved community.  And it fills my heart with joy when people come and tell me how they felt the love & care added into what I made for them.

My passion for globetrotting is also reflected in my culinary experiments. While travelling I like trying the local cuisine, so that after getting back I can re-create those dishes at home. Among the many cuisines I’ve immersed myself in, Italian and Thai remain my favorite. I love how diverse and rich their dishes are. It is during travelling when I started my food photography and blogging career as well. Every place I visited & everything I ate, I just blogged it out (and still do)!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on this page. I’ll try my best to steer you in the right direction. Thanks for reading!

Happy Cooking!
